WE HAVE A FIRM COMMITMENT TO RESPECT AND PRESERVE NATURE AND A CLEAR INVOLVEMENT WITH SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT. AT GILLRANGE, ALL OUR WORK IS SUPPORTED BY STUDIES TO ENSURE IT COMPLIES WITH CURRENT LEGISLATION AND HAS MINIMUM ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT.
Gillrange is committed to leading the industry in minimising the impact of its activities on the environment.
The key points of our strategy to achieve this are:
- Minimise waste by evaluating our techniques to ensure that we are blasting in the most efficient way possible, leading to less blasts for the same annual output which will in turn have less of an impact on the environment.
- Minimise toxic emmisions by using enhanced explosives mixing techniques.
- Monitor all blasts using a seismograph. This will measure both vibration and noise levels to make sure we keep them at the lowest possible levels.
- Constantly assess the initiation sequence to minimise vibration impact wherever possible.
Health & Safety
We take our Health and Safety policies very seriously and strive to continuously review these. As a company we encourage our employees to look after not just themselves, but each other as well.
The organisation employs Arbour Safety Management to act as a consultant in order to ensure we achieve the highest possible levels.
Members will be able to view the most up-to-date policies, method statements and risk assessments which we use on a day-to-day basis.
